ABOUT US

South East Sydney Podiatry is a small, but very busy podiatry clinic which was was started in 2012 by podiatrist, Leon Manning who has grown up and lives in Maroubra. It is a family operated clinic where Leon's wife Tracey looks after all the day to day duties of making the clinic run smoothly as well as reception duties. Leon consults at the clinic every weekday. Due to the clinic becoming ever busier, Laura Chan has joined the team 3-4 days/week, and Tayla Forland has recently joined 2 days/week. Leon, Laura and Tayla enjoy building a rapport with patients and take pride in providing excellent treatment outcomes for their patients.

Leon Manning graduated from the University of Newcastle with a Bachelor of Podiatry degree in 2009. During his studies Leon achieved a Distinction average and was awarded the Dean's Merit Award in his final year.

Since graduating Leon has gained a wealth of knowledge and experience in all facets of podiatry by working at various highly regarded private podiatry clinics in Sydney. He has been involved in podiatry research at Westmead Hospital and continues to stay up to date with the latest evidence based research. Leon has a strong focus on providing the best quality care for his patients.

Leon is a member of the Australian Podiatry Association, Sports Medicine Australia and The Australasian Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine. Leon has a keen interest in all facets of podiatry including general foot care, biomechanical and sports injuries, orthotic therapy and permanent ingrown toenail surgery.

Leon grew up locally and still lives in Maroubra. He is happily married to Tracey and is kept busy their 4 children.

Laura graduated from The University of Western Sydney with a Bachelor of Health Science and a Masters of Podiatric Medicine. She has been apart of the team at South East Sydney Podiatry for over 3 years and has a keen interest in all facets of podiatry, and is dedicated to providing evidence-based treatments for her patients.

Laura is a member of the Australian Podiatry Association and The Australasian Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine. Her interests in sports has led her to develop a passion for sports-focused podiatry including injury rehabilitation and biomechanics. Laura has worked with Sporting teams and athletes at all levels. Laura has a keen interest in all facets of podiatry including general foot care, biomechanical and sports injuries and rehabilitation, orthotic therapy and permanent ingrown toenail surgery, paediatric management and Diabetes assessment and prevention.

Laura consults in the clinic Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.


Tayla Forland (B.PodMed, M.A.POD.A)

Tayla is an enthusiastic and cheerful podiatrist with a Bachelor of Podiatric Medicine from Western Sydney University. Tayla is passionate about diversity and communication in all areas of care. She enjoys all aspects of podiatry and has a detailed interest in dance and sports podiatry.

Tayla has experience in a variety of individual and team sports and has danced for 18 years. The difficulty she experienced in the advanced grades of ballet encouraged her specific focus in optimising patient biomechanics and technique, injury rehabilitation and injury prevention.

Tayla highly values professional development and staying attune to current research. She has completed further training in assisting patients with disability, pre-pointe and pointe assessments, advanced dry needling and acupuncture techniques, sports taping techniques, and strength and conditioning.

Outside podiatry, Tayla enjoys travelling, reading, being active and having a chat with just about anyone.

Tayla will be consulting in clinic on Wednesdays and performing HOME VISITS on Tuesdays in the local area. .
